teeth-chattering siren song
with broken whole notes
floating in the half-
salty atmosphere
it’s been a month –
roughly a month,
since i have seen
the purpling bruises
along your angel-spine,
that loomed over
our indigo sea
it’s been a year –
terribly a year,
since i could lay
my cheshire kisses
on your milky winged
jaw, but i wish
you had learned my song
